Arrangements were originally made for a group of 20 to visit this working water mill but traffic problems well away from the mill meant that we arrived in dribs and drabs. However, we were made most welcome and two very knowledgeable guides showed us around the mill, and demonstrated its working. Furthermore we were feted with tea and home made cakes, making our visit outstandingly enjoyable.

The lunch was very nice and good value for money. Thank you to those who prepared it. My group found the guided tour of the mill informative and interesting. We were lucky to have a warm and sunny afternoon and we also enjoyed sitting by the mill pond in the sunshine.
Everyone said that they had had a lovely day out. Thank you to all the volunteers who made this possible.

Our WI group numbering 23 visited the Mill on 12 July 2016. We were split into 3 groups for our guided tours. The guides were extremely knowledgeable and, despite the pouring rain, made this a very enjoyable evening. Nicely rounded off with a delicious tea & cakes. 10/10!
It was not on our intention but the planned trip was cancelled not by us but by the Chairman of Pakenham Water Mill due to a lack of communication by him. After months of planning our group although by this stage down to 14 (the minimum requirement). Our group was informed the night before, problems do arise and people get ill, having arranged everything and communicated with those running the tour at there end over the week prior to our visit, I was left to tell everyone the bad news late in the evening. To make things worse I found out that it was cancelled through another member rather than directly to myself. Lessons to be learnt; COMMUNICATION between Pakenham Water Mill staff and volunteers.
